2008 Review - New Lanark in July
A day trip from Glasgow to New Lanark Mills owned by Robert Owen, a British social reformer regarded as the father of the co-operative movement. In its heyday in the early 1800's 5000 people lived and worked in vastly improved working and social conditions. The mill and surrounding buildings have now been restored into a working mill and museum and are considered a world heritage site.
